Spark Somerset provide information, advice, training and support to the voluntary and community sector in South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor. They also run the Volunteer Service, inspiring people to get involved and make a difference in their communities.

Become a Volunteer Befriender

The Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Carers Service supports Carers by running a one-to-one befriending service.  They are looking for volunteers willing to befriend carers to offer support and friendship as sometimes carers of people with mental health issues are often isolated, lonely or in crisis. Befriending Service

People affected by dementia sometimes feel lonely or isolated. You can help by joining
their befriending service in the Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne area.

Become a trained volunteer to support the person with dementia to continue
to enjoy their hobbies, interests and practical tasks i.e. shopping, in the
community or at home.
